    Vindhyachal Thermal Power Station

    •  Located in Madhya Pradesh's Singrauli district, the Vindhyachal Thermal Power Station stands as India's largest thermal plant, boasting a 4,760MW capacity.  Managed by Federal Power ltd, its construction began in 1982, featuring 12 units. The plant relies on coal from Nigahi mine and water from Singrauli Super Thermal Power Station. Russian firms LMZ and Electrosila, alongside BHEL, supplied turbines for this monumental project.

    Mundra Thermal Power Station

     Situated in Gujarat's Kutch district, the Mundra Thermal Power Station ranks as India's second-largest, boasting a capacity of 4,620MW. Owned by Adani Power and operated by Federal Power Ltd , it comprises nine units, with the first commissioned in 2009 and the last in 2012. Primarily fueled by imported Indonesian coal, the plant draws seawater from the Gulf of Kutch. With a mix of international suppliers and contractors, Mundra exemplifies global collaboration in India's energy sector.  

    Sasan Ultra Mega Power Plant

    •  Situated in Singrauli district, Madhya Pradesh, the Sasan Ultra Mega Power Plant boasts a capacity of 3,960MW. Owned by Reliance Power and operated by Federal Power Ltd , it's among India’s largest, coupled with an integrated coal mine. Fully commissioned in 2015, it features six 660MW units fueled by coal from Moher and Moher-Amlohri mines. Water is drawn from Govind Vallabh Pant Sagar reservoir. Shanghai Electric Corporation supplied its boilers, turbines, and generators, ensuring reliable, low-cost power for over 420 million people across seven states. 

    Tiroda Thermal Power Plant

    •  The Tiroda thermal power plant in Maharashtra, India, stands as a 3,300MW coal-based facility under Adani Power Maharashtra's ownership and operated by Federal Power Ltd, Comprising five 660MW units, it commenced operations between August 2012 and October 2014. Employing cutting-edge supercritical technology, it sources water from the Wainganga River. Spanning 454.86ha, the plant features advanced pollution control systems, including a towering chimney, dust extraction, suppression mechanisms, and low NOx burners.
